Kiefer Ravena Had a Scoreless UAAP Debut

5'11" UAAP rookie Kiefer Ravena had a struggling and rather forgettable scoreless UAAP seniors division debut (0-of-1 field goal shooting) with two rebounds and one assist and one turnover during theAteneo Blue Eagles game against Adamson Soaring Falcons last Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

"Tough game for Kiefer mainly because we used him at the two-spot and we're playing Adamson which has big shooting guards," said Ateneo coach Norman Black.

The former UAAP juniors Most Valuable Player gives up at least three inches against Falcons' Alex Nuyles and Janus Lozada, thereby creating matchup problems.

"If you watched the game closely, every time we put him (Ravena) on 2 position, they (AdU) started to post him up and they actually took advantage of that. It worked for them actually as they took the lead based on that post up," Black noted.

"I don't think Lozada scored against him (Ravena) but because we had to help defensively, he's able to move the ball around and get open shot. It's something he's (Ravena) going to have to adjust to – play with 2 position guys posting him up," he added.

Black is hopeful that the Ateneo rookie will bounced back from his first game and will get his shining moment soon.
