Little Richard Performs at the Annual "A Capitol Fourth" Celebration

Little Richard, who performed in D.C. as part of the annual "A Capitol Fourth" celebration, brought down the house with his signature high-energy piano playing. Also performing in D.C: Steve Martin on banjo, "American Idol" alumna Jordin Sparks, "Glee's" Matthew Morrison and singer/songwriter Josh Groban.

In New York, Beyonce covered Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" before launching into her new single, "Best I Ever Had."

Lionel Richie was scheduled to headline the Boston Pops, but Martina McBride stepped in at the last minute to sub for the Richie - who was reportedly too sick to perform.
