FEDERER V POTRO LIVE TV & ONLINE
The US Tennis Open Men's Final, between Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro, is being broadcast live on CBS TV from 4:00 PM (although it is not on the scheduled program) and streaming live over the web -- use the link on http://www.usopen.org/en_US/interactive/video/live.html
The streaming video there is exceptionally good.

TENNIS BALLS
I don't know if it's the color scheme, the speed of play, my eyes, or my old TV set, but I'm having trouble following the ball at the French Open.
If it's not just my eyes or my TV set, perhaps it's time to digitally brighten the ball and make the game easier to follow.

WIMBLEDON & DONALD YOUNG & NYT
Everyone knows by now that Federer won his 5th consecutive Wimbledon title, though he was actually pushed into a fifth set -- very rare for Federer -- by Nadal.
Overlooked, however, is the fact that Donald Young, the young American player who was featured in an article in the New York Times Magazine recently, seeded third, won the Men's Junior (don't call them Boys) title, beating top seeded Vladimir Ignatic from Belarus, 7-5, 6-1. With his partner, Johnny Hamui, he also made it to the Men's Junior Doubles finals, but lost in three sets.
