Adele vs. Robin S - Show Me In The Deep (Djs From Mars FM Remix)

"We could've had it all"

It's probably pointless posting anything non Lady Gaga related, but I'd going to try anyways. I haven't yet listened to Gaga's new album (will tonight, and can't wait!!). Plus, I don't like making snap judgments. This track, though, is something I've been sitting on awhile. I'm really in a remix phase right now. They're the perfect tempo for working out. And I especially love when a non-dance track gets a full-on dance mix. Adele's Rolling In The Deep has become a gargantuan hit in the US, UK and elsewhere. I'm a little sick of it, only because it's been played to death. It's a great song and deserves its success, and I think this remix (mashing it with Robin S's dance classic Show Me Love) really breathes some fresh life into it. It's a shining example of what a good remix can do... reinvent a beloved track without straying too far from the melody. I was flabbergasted the first time I heard this. What a perfect mesh of sounds! And, unlike most remixes, it doesn't overstay its welcome. Now I just want Adele to make a club record.

Adele - Rolling In The Deep

I'm obsessed with this song (well her whole album, as I've stated before) right now. It's one of those songs that kind of just speaks to you and just fits. You know how sometimes you just sort of latch onto a certain song for a while...I love this one. I belt it in the car. Yeah, I'm the girl who you see driving on the freeway just singing along and I don't care who stares at me. Sometimes I'm even crying. HA. But that's just me. It's one of those therapies that I talked about in my Taylor Swift post. I wish I had Adele's...(or Taylor's) voice.

Anyway, take a listen and I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
*I love this video too*

Adele - Rolling in the Deep

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark,

Finally, I can see you crystal clear,
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your sheet bare,
See how I'll leave with every piece of you,
Don't underestimate the things that I will do,

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark,

The scars of your love remind me of us,
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all,
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless,
I can't help feeling,

We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hands,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
And you played it to the beat,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

Baby, I have no story to be told,
But I've heard one on you and I'm gonna make your head burn,
Think of me in the depths of your despair,
Make a home down there as mine sure won't be shared,

The scars of your love remind me of us,
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all,
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless,
I can't help feeling,

We could have had it all,
Rolling in the deep,
You had my heart inside of your hands,

Throw your soul through every open door,
Count your blessings to find what you look for,
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold,
You'll pay me back in kind and reap just what you've sown,

We could have had it all,
We could have had it all,
It all, it all, it all,

Adele on Chelsey Lately - Found it!

Adele

Adele was on Chelsey Lately last night promoting her new album "21"...which is amazing...and she was hilarious! She basically said all of her songs are about her experience and mostly people she's dated or been in love with etc...but she was like, "Well I guess if you don't want a song written about you then don't F me over." HAHA. Not all of her songs are like that, but I thought it was hilarious. She has the most funny laugh ever and the funniest sense of humor. You should all look up the episode and watch it. If I can find it I will post it.
Anyway, I posted one of my favorite songs below. Take a listen. and go get her CD.

Adele - Someone Like You (Live in Her Home)

Someone Like You - Adele

I heard that your settled down.
That you found a girl and your married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you.

Old friend why are you so shy?
It ain't like you to hold back or hide from the lie.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited.
But I couldn't stay away I couldn't fight it.
I'd hoped you'd see my face & that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over.

Nevermind I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me I beg I remember you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead yeah.

You'd know how the time flies.
Only yesterday was the time of our lives.
We were born and raised in a summery haze.
Bound by the surprise of our glory days.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away I couldn't fight it.
I'd hoped you'd see my face & that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over yet.

Nevermind I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me I beg I remember you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead" yay.

Nothing compares no worries or cares.
Regret's and mistakes they're memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Nevermind I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me I beg I remembered you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"

Nevermind I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me I beg I remembered you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead yay yeh yeah

Pop Blitz 2/1/11

Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me
As this single's quick chart ascension proves, it's an instantly catchy dance track. What it doesn't seem to have, though, is a lot of staying power. Right now I'm rating it as "just fine." Certainly not bad, but nothing all that special, either. B

Jessie J - Price Tag
While I can see a glimmer of the "next-big-thing" hype she's getting, neither her last song nor this one has got me all that excited. It's kind of boring, honestly. C+

Chris Brown - Yeah 3X
After everything that happened, I'm honestly surprised that this comeback is happening. Especially with such a derivative, sounds-like-everything-else track. Taio Cruz does this much better, but I do have to admit that the chorus is pretty strong. B-

Pink - F**kin' Perfect
Sorry, Pink. I'm a fan, but this is such a lazy song. Boring melody, sappy sentiment and dull production. I don't see why it's such a huge hit. It's the same problem I've had with a lot of her more recent stuff. She's coasting. There's none of that spark of her first three albums. C

Adele - Rolling In The Deep
Amazing. This is an example of an artist improving on her debut with a single that pushes forward, rather than setting the auto-pilot and reaping the rewards of an already established career. A-

Train - Marry Me
Is there anyone alive that still likes Hey, Soul Sister? It may have been the most overplayed song of all time. Let's HOPE this doesn't follow the same path. This is a neutered band, producing Hallmark card songs at the whim of conservative radio playlisters. Blech. F

Wretch 32 - Tractor
I'm probably not the target audience for this, but as far as UK rap singles go, I find this relatively forgettable. I like the production, but the hook's not strong enough to make much of an impact. C-
