Shamcey Supsup Nervous About the Upcoming Miss Universe 2011 Pageant

Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup, the country's representative to the upcoming Miss Universe 2011 pageant to be held in Brazil in September, started to prepare for the said much-awaited event.

Supsup revealed that her training includes following a strict diet to gain more weight.

I have to drink milk twice a day. I have to eat more protein or less carbs. Pero I still eat rice. I think I’ve gained weight already. From 105 lbs, I’m now 112 lbs. They want me to gain more like siguro mga 3 lbs na lang,” she said.

Supsup said that although her training regimen is stressful, she gets through it because of the support that she receives from her friends.

The training is stressful. But what makes it more bearable is having friends with you. Nakakatuwa. Kahit ako ang unang ipapadala, lahat sila kasama. Kasama ko sila sa Spanish class, kasama ko sila sa Portguese class, sa gym. Ang mga kasama ko sila ang nagpapagaan ng lahat ng trainings ko,” she said.

Supsup said that she is nervous and excited about the pageant.

Yung excitement at kaba magkahalo na. But then I always tell myself na you just keep your faith and if it’s God’s will, then it will be given to you as you long as you’re ready for it,” Supsup said.

Death Has Never Been Closer Than in ‘Final Destination 5′

No matter where you run, no matter where you hide…you can’t cheat death.

Or can you?

In New Line Cinema’s “Final Destination 5,” the fifth installment of the successful horror franchise, Death once again proves to be the ultimate stalker as it systematically hunts down a group of friends struggling to escape its relentless pursuit.

This time around, Death is unleashed on several coworkers as they embark on a corporate retreat for what should be a quick overnight trip. As the charter bus makes its way toward the location, the route takes them over a massive suspension bridge that arches over a river, where raging waters surge 200 feet below. But their fates are seemingly sealed as the bridge splinters apart right in front of their eyes. Sam, the character who had first presaged the accident, desperately tries to figure out a way to save them, with some degree of success…or so he thinks.

The second of the “Final Destination” films to be shot in 3D, “Final Destination 5” is directed by Steven Quale, marking his feature film directorial debut. The film brings together an ensemble cast, including Nicholas D’Agosto (TV’s “Heroes”), Emma Bell (TV’s “The Walking Dead”), Miles Fisher (TV’s “Gossip Girl”), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s “Flash Forward”) and Arlen Escarpeta (“Friday the 13th”), with David Koechner (TV’s “The Office”) and “Final Destination” franchise icon Tony Todd.

Director Steven Quale says, “In the previous ‘Final Destination’ films, it’s inevitable that they’re going to die, and the question is when and how - that’s the adrenaline rush. But in this movie, we’ve added a twist: a few may have found a way to survive.

For producer Craig Perry, the opportunity to come back for a fifth time offered a chance to not only meet the fans’ expectations, but to rock them out of their seats. “We’re always looking at these films with an eye to taking it to the next level,” Perry says. “One of the things we’ve learned from fans is that they want a gripping, terrifying story that is also an entertaining ride, so we really tried to ramp it up.”

Quale felt that working on a film where the core premise was firmly established provided him with a creative challenge to enhance the bones of the franchise. “I did a marathon screening of all four ‘Final Destination’ movies back-to-back with the mind of a moviegoer, noting what I liked best about each. Then I began to think about what I was going to do once I was behind the camera.”

Screenwriter Eric Heisserer says working on “Final Destination 5” was a writer’s dream job, since setting up the hook of the story isn’t needed. “The ‘Final Destination’ conceit is one of those rare situations where, thanks to the previous four movies, I didn’t need to spend a lot of time on exposition to make sure the audience would get it. It was my intent from the start to write an engaging supernatural thriller that also happens to be a ‘Final Destination’ movie. Like fans, I wanted some heinous kill sequences, but I also wanted to expand the mythology of the world by introducing a moral dilemma for the characters, which forces them to wrestle with the question of what, or who, they value most.”

With the series’ signature chain reaction-style kills always at the center of anticipation for audiences, the scenes have to be bigger and better each time, presenting a fun challenge for the writer.

The toughest thing for me was definitely choreographing the death sequences. I made several trips to various real-world locations where our scenarios are set. I took pictures, drew diagrams, conducted interviews. Often it felt like I was at the scene of some crime, even though none had been committed…yet,” he laughs. “The chain of small, mundane events that, when triggered in proper order, spell disaster for a character, took a lot of careful planning. The flip side of that coin is that, when a death sequence worked, it was easily the most fun to write.

In addition to the death scenes, the producers and Quale were adamant that the story and character development take equal precedence, recognizing the value that comes from engaging the audience to care about the characters, which then makes watching their demise that much more of a visceral, horrifying event.

We set out to make a visually stunning film with dynamic action sequences, beginning with the bridge,” Quale states, “But I also think the characters are people the audience will want to follow. Their storylines really help drive this movie, so we spent a lot of time looking for the right actors for each part. We got very lucky with this group.”

I think we found a great balance with this film,” Perry says. “With the bridge collapse, we’ve got the biggest opening sequence we’ve ever had. Then there’s the sheer suspense of not only what will happen to each of these characters but, more importantly, how it will happen, which is really what sets ‘Final Destination’ movies apart.”

Opening soon across the Philippines in 3D and regular format, “Final Destination 5” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Analeigh Tipton

This is the girl I was just talking about from "Crazy Stupid Love" and who was on America's Next Top Model. So pretty.

Crazy Stupid Love

I ended up seeing this movie this weekend too. I liked this a lot too. I loved the cast. Steve Carrell is so funny and he and Julianne Moore were actually really good together. Ryan Gosling is unbelievably attractive in this movie. His wardrobe is amazing. I think Emma Stone is so funny and cute. She's becoming one of my favorite actresses.
The story was really cute. I would be laughing one second and then almost want to cry another. It was mostly funny though :). I definitely recommend this one.
Ryan...sigh
Emma
Analeigh Tipton...another actress in the movie. She was on America's Top model. I think she is gorgeous.

Eugene Domingo Walks-out on "The Buzz"

2011 Cinemalaya Best Actress Eugene "Uge" Domingo walks out of her interview with Boy Abunda during her guesting yesterday on "The Buzz".

Uge guested on the show's "The Abunda Challenge" segment to promote her latest Cinemalaya movie "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" which will be release by Star Cinema on mainstream theaters starting August 3.

The interview started, as expected, very entertaining until one candid question was asked by Boy...which pushed Uge to walked-out on the said interview.

Watch the video below:

Uge is being considered as one of the lucky showbiz stars who can cross over from one TV station to another. She started to get noticed when the Kapamilya network gave her a break on TV and even on mainstream movies. But the Kapuso network gambled on her and gave her a show under her name. She also had her own primetime show with the Kapatid network which gave her the chance to show her versatility as an actress and performer. She will also soon to star in a TV project with the returning Superstar Nora Aunor in the Kapatid network.

I’m Already King (Music Video and Lyrics) - Christian Bautista

Listen and sing with Christian Bautista's latest song "I’m Already King", the official theme song of his latest Indonesian movie "A Special Symphony (Simfoni Luar Biasa)", showing in Philippine theaters starting August 3.

This is the time
I have to believe
No one can take my faith away

And I’m flying through the night
Flyin’ to the sky
And go higher and higher again
And go higher and higher again

I’m already king
In my own empire
I’m already here
I’ve already reached my desires
Uh and no one… can take my dreams away

And I’m flying through the night
Flyin’ to the sky
And go higher and higher again
And go higher and higher again

I’m already king…
I’m already king…

And I’m flying through the night
I’m flyin’ to the sky
And go higher and higher again
And go higher and higher again

And I’m flying through the night
And I’m flyin’ to the sky
And go higher and higher again
And go higher and higher again

I’m already king
In my own empire
I’m already here
I’ve already reached my desires
Cause I’m with you

Soap Discussion - July 2011

And here's a soap blog to end the month of July ...

Coronation Street: It's been a strange month for this soap. Unfairly picked on in the press and by former actors for being too gay/crime fuelled/humourless, it's almost a shame that the actual storylines themselves were overshadowed. Ken's grandson turned out to be a bad egg and fleeced him, Leanne suffered a miscarriage, Gary held Izzie hostage and even Tracy got her own back when Steve rejected her for the millionth time. Still Amber returned, there was less of Becky and Fiz and Sylvia remained amusing, so the month wasn't all bad.

EastEnders: You lose a Mitchell, you gain a Mitchell. With Ronnie getting sent down and finally ending this ridiculous baby swap nonsense, Billy and Julie gained a mouthy granddaughter in the shape of Lola, whose only purpose so far is arson and getting between Jay and Abi. Meanwhile as Max and Tanya's affair continued, Lauren made a tit out of herself and Rainie spiralled yet again, the arrival of Eddie's other sons, Tyler and Anthony proved that some people really do get hired on this show without the need of basic acting ability. On the plus side, at least I managed to go through an episode where Zainab managed to get her points across in relation to Christian and Syed's adoption process that I could agree with.

Emmerdale: Aw, here I was hoping they might actually send Aaron down for his part in Jackson's death. Nope, I guess we're stuck with the misery guts for another while. I know the acting in this storyline has been great but it doesn't mask how much I've hated Jackson's death and how bored I am with the never ending angst surrounding Aaron. There are limits and Paddy and Chas's overprotectiveness as well has been more headwrecking than endearing too. In other storylines, it doesn't take much to see that Leyla's inches away from telling Jacob who his real mother is and even I'm confused about Sarah's bruises. Could Samson really have done it? The stuff involving Declan and Ella on the other hand is boring me senseless.

Fair City: Bit of a dull month on this show. Carol's pregnant and we're still not sure who the father is, Jo and Tommy's affair is still nonsensical as it's dull, while I struggle to see what David sees in the miserable Suzanne. At least they sort of progressed the Sarah arc a bit by introducing her mother, even if Barry was a little too successful in getting her off the scent.

Hollyoaks: Ah, Bart and Sinead - love's young dream those two certainly aren't and the Romeo And Juliet style antics were not all that amusing to watch either, well, at least not as funny as Ethan getting his comeuppance via Theresa, Liberty and Rae publicly humiliating him with milkshake. Less impressive was Noah's crappy exit at the hand of Brendan once again finding away to sabotage Ste's love life. Oh and wasn't there a serial killer supposed to be looming about the village?

things i'm loving

I'm kind of excited for this movie to come out...I'm not going to lie. Yes, I may be a little bit of a nerd. I do like Jennifer Lawrence a lot though so I'm interested to see how she is at Katness.
I need to learn how to do this with my make-up.

I want to make one of these for my room.

I like this quote.

I love this ring, but I don't know where to find it! I saw it on pinterest, but it didn't have a link to where I can get it. I bet it's on etsy or something.

I need to learn how to make this, because I need to eat this. It looks so good.
