Concerti Ciani: Al Regina Palace recital di Trotovsek Misumi


Venerdì 17 luglio alle 21.30, con ingresso gratuito, per il XX anno dei Festival Internazionali dell'Associazione Musicale Dino Ciani al Grand Hotel Regina Palace di Stresa si esibisce il duo composto da Lana TROTOVŠEK al violino e Yoko MISUMI al pianoforte.

Lana TROTOVŠEK, violino.
Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovsek performs throughout Europe with orchestras and as a recital soloist to critical and public acclaim. She has been invited to perform many times at international festivals such as The Santander International Festival in Spain, Emilia Romagna Festival in Italy, Novi Sad Festival in Serbia, The Festival Ljubljana, and The International Music Festival in Bled, Slovenia.
As a concerto soloist she has toured throughout Italy, Slovenia, Serbia and Spain with orchestras such as the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by George Pehlivanian, the Radio Television Symphony Orchestra from Belgrade, Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra from Moscow, the Vox Aurae Orchestra from Brescia, Italy, the Canterbury Symphony Orchestra in England, the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, London and Milano Classica Chamber Orchestra.
She has played solo concerts in the Vienna Konzerthaus, The Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Kolarac Hall in Belgrade and St. John's Smith Square, London. Lana has premiered works for violin and orchestra specially written for her. She is frequently heard on Radio Slovenija with orchestra and as a recitalist, and has performed on the Radio Television of Serbia and Radio Pula in Croatia; her performance of Khachaturian Violin Concerto was broadcasted on BBC Radio 3 this year.
Lana was born in 1983 to a family of gifted musicians in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She started to play the violin when she was five and went on to study at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana with Primo? Novšak and Volodja Balzalorsky. She was quickly noticed for her talent and was chosen to perform as a soloist in Ljubljana with the Gaudeamus Chamber Orchestra, the School of Performing Arts Orchestra, and the String chamber orchestra "Pro Musica". During this time she was top winner of the XII° Concorso Europeo "A. e V. Marcosig" in Gorizia, Italy, and a prize winner in the Temsig Competition of Slovenian Musicians. She was then discovered by Ruggiero Ricci, who invited her to study with him at the Mozarteum Salzburg. Lana has enjoyed masterclasses with Ruggiero Ricci, Ivry Gitlis, Pierre Amoyal, Giorgy Pauk, Tasmin Little, Edith Peinemann, Pavel Berman, Lev Guelbard, Rudolf Gahler, Igor Ozim, Vasko Vassilev and Boris Brovtsyn. She currently studies with Rivka Golani at Trinity College of Music where she was awarded Friends in New York TCM prize. She won 1st Prize of "Francesco Forgione" International Music Competition for Soloists 2008 in Italy and was awarded prize for the absolute winner of the competition as achieving all the 100 points.
Lana is a member of the Greenwich Trio described by legendary cellist Bernard Greenhouse as the new "Beaux Arts Trio". The trio was formed in August 2006, and since its very beginning has gained appraisal for their numerous performances throughout the UK, and in Italy, Austria, Germany, U.S.A., Croatia, Slovenia. They won the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition 2006 in London, the International Chamber Music competition 2007 in Candelo, Italy and "Carlo Mosso" International Chamber Music Competition 2008.
Lana is the recipient of Prešeren Award of University; awards of the Prešeren Fund are the highest recognitions for achievements in the field of art in the Republic of Slovenia.

Yoko MISUMI, pianoforte.
Born in Kyoto to a musical family, Yoko started very early her piano lessons, showing at a very tender age her innate talent and musicianship. At age 14 she was already a prize-winner and would receive the Second Prize in the prestigious Kyoto Piano Competition. After graduating from Kyoto Music High School, she was prompted to move to London to continue her development at Trinity College of Music under the Russian Master Nina Sereda, and later two Postgraduate Diplomas awarded with distinction with the guidance of the internationally acclaimed soloist Martino Tirimo.
Yoko has appeared as a soloist with the world most renowned conductors such as James Judd and Barry Wordsworth. Yoko has performed all around Japan and Europe, with particular predilection to Germany, Portugal, London, Italy, Croatia and Slovenia, both as soloist and in chamber music recitals. She has appeared in such prestigious venues as Kyoto Concert Hall(Japan), St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James Piccadilly, Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, Adrian Boult Hall and Regent Hall. In master classes Yoko has worked with Stephen Kovacevich, Dietrich Banhoeffer, Neal Larrabee, Elisabeth Dvorak-Weissmar, Bernard Greenhouse, Daniel Hoxter, William Aide, Norma Fischer and Dmitri Alexeev, among others.
She is the recipient of the First Prize of the John Longmire Beethoven Competition, Second Prize of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Intercollegiate Piano Competition 2005, being also the winner of the Elizabeth Schumann Lieder competition 2006, the Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition 2007 with cellist Stjepan Hauser. Most recently she won the 2008 Alfred Kitchin Piano Competition. Currently, Yoko is the Leverhulme Scholar at Trinity College of Music, and also recipient of the TCM Founders' Prize for musical accomplishments.
